Training California's responsible permit holders

A United States Air Force veteran, John began instructing firearms in the early 1980s — training fellow service members, family, and civilians with a focus on safety, discipline, and responsibility. After his honorable discharge in 1988, he became an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and has since trained thousands of men, women, and youth across Southern California.

In 2008, John graduated from the Riverside County Sheriff's Academy as the highest-scoring marksman in the history of the Palm Desert Campus. He went on to serve in critical national security roles, including Preventive Radiological/Nuclear Detection (PRND) Instructor and VIPR Team member with the Federal Air Marshal Service in Los Angeles, and as a DHS Certified Instructor for the National Nuclear Security Administration's CTOS Program.

As a POST Firearms Instructor and DOJ Certified CCW Instructor, John leads a training program recognized by multiple sheriff's departments and state agencies across California, Arizona, and Utah — and is uniquely qualified as the only CCW instructor in the nation to have experienced a real-world civilian self-defense shooting outside of his military and law-enforcement service.

He doesn't teach theory — he teaches reality. From the chaos of the encounter to the legal and emotional aftermath, John prepares students for decisions made in seconds that can impact a lifetime.
